Original Item: One Only. Recently discovered in an old barn near the 1812 Battle site on LAKE ERIE this is truly what we call a “Barn find”. The wood shaft 43″ long, is very matured and certainly is totally original. It is topped with an iron spear head of 9 1/2″, which is covered in 200 years of rust pitting and it still retains its bottom mount, 5″, also of iron and well rusted, making the weapon’s overall and original length 57 1/2″.
Traditionally “Boarding” Pikes are very long, often over eight foot in length, but this is a hand pike of just over half the length to REPEL boarders as they attempted to come over the rail. Rare and unusual, an item that may very well have last seen action in the War of 1812, this is a total sleeper never having been fully restored and that has just lain in a barn for perhaps 200 years. Ready to Display.
