Original Item: A wonderful example of a brass bodied regimental side drum with rope tension, it is painted with the regimental badge and battle honors of the The Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. All skins and rope are good working order. Made by Premier drums UK.
The Regiment was created by the 1881 amalgamation of the 27th Regiment of Foot, (the Inniskillings) and the 108th Regiment of Foot in the Childers Reforms. Previously the Inniskillings had fought in the Peninsula Wars and at Waterloo and they went on to see extensive service in both WW1 and WW2.
The drum dates from after WW2 as the final battle honor is for Italy 1943-1945. The Regiment was retired in 1968 and was renamed The Royal Irish Rangers. In wonderful condition complete with drum skins ready to use, we even include the original drumsticks, so bang away!
