Original Item: One Only. The Traditional Bobby helmet was named after the creator of the British Police Force, SIR ROBERT PEEL, who became Prime Minister under Queen Victoria. This version is known as the “spike top” for the spike on the crown of the helmet, a throwback to the 19th century pith helmets worn around the empire. The front Helmet plate has a Queens’s Crown to top, over a star burst containing a silver E II R Royal Cypher, for Queen Elizabeth II, who has reigned since 1952. There is a circle around the cypher which reads BERMUDA / POLICE.
This is definitely a recent issue, probably from the last few decades, and has nice leather liner, with a red drawstring on the top. The chin strap is unfortunately missing, but the hooks are still present. The exterior dark blue felt covering is in excellent condition, with no moth and just light wear.
Completely authentic recent issue, from the Bermuda Police Service. In very good condition, ready to display!
