Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is very nice Lieutenant’s red tunic with G.R. buttons having plush mattress style lining to the interior. The tunic is complete with correct maroon leather waist and cross belt decorated with silver wire type ribbon design. Tunic size is typical for the era, probably for a 34 inch chest and 30 inch waist or less. The cross belt secures an original leather binocular case to center of back displaying Royal Arms over the Royal Engineer motto.

The Corps of Royal Engineers, usually just called the Royal Engineers (RE), and commonly known as the Sappers, is one of the corps of the British Army. It is highly regarded throughout the military, and especially the Army.
It provides military engineering and other technical support to the British Armed Forces and is headed by the Chief Royal Engineer. The Regimental Headquarters and the Royal School of Military Engineering are in Chatham in Kent, England.
