Original Item: Only One Available. We very rarely see these, the sword itself is not really hard to find, but generally always comes with an all steel scabbard with the characteristic two loops one for each side.
This particular sword, made and marked on the blade WILKINSON, LONDON and dated 1901 comes complete with the original well marked leather covered scabbard.
The sword is the Pattern of 1899 (P-1899) and the blade is marked “01” (1901) and the scabbard is also beautifully marked “99“, a broad arrow, a crowned proof mark, also with “01” (1901).
Offered in nice but used condition the tip of the blade blunted for training purposes and with a wood grip.
There evidence of some denting to the bowl guard, knocked out and repaired, no doubt from vigorous training. A classic British Cavalry Sword in a very rare well-marked scabbard.
