Original Item: Only One Available. This is a fine British Naval Cutlass measuring 35″ in overall length with a slightly curved meaty blade of nearly 30″. The blade is stamped WOOLEY / & DEAKIN, who worked in LONDON from 1780 until 1830. The grip is of fluted fine-grained hardwood, with a single stirrup type brass guard.
This is a very imposing weapon, the blade without fullers on either side, resulting in a very heavy weapon. The very tip of the blade is absent, but may have been purposely removed, as the cut is clean.
Circa 1800 as used in the Napoleonic Wars, ready to display!
