Original Item: Only One available. The non-recessed locking button indicates that this is the earlier L1A1 Bayonet for the British Self-Loading Rifle (SLR), which was British version of the Belgian FN FAL battle rifle (Fusil Automatique Léger [“Light Automatic Rifle”]. This was adopted as the standard rifle for British forces in 1955, and a bayonet was designed featuring the popular “bowie” clip point blade seen on earlier British bayonets.
This bayonet has a heavy phosphate finish on the hilt and blade, and comes in the standard brass-throated scabbard, very similar to the British No.5/7/9 scabbard. The frog is dark olive green canvas, and incorporates an American-style belt hook for use with the G.I Belt, perhaps intended for use in Vietnam.
