Original Item: Only One Available. Of relatively late production for the Napoleonic Wars this “Newland” Dragoon Flintlock pistol is in .65 bore. It was a made between 1814-1815 and displays the slightly more acute curve to the butt stock as was fashionable for the time. The walnut grip is also checkered for better traction and attractiveness.
The Newland model was fitted with an attached swivel ramrod allowing a mounted Dragoon to reload while in the saddle without fear of dropping the ramrod. The pistol is all brass mounted, the lock displays the “Crown” over “G.R.” with “TOWER” across the tail and the barrel still shows faint British Proof markings.
At the Battle of Waterloo in June 1815, this was the latest thing in British Cavalry pistols. Offered in nice condition and ready to display.
