Original item: Only One Available. This is a very nice set of Cold War British Israeli-Made A.F.V. (Armored Fighting Vehicle) BINOCULARS, PERISCOPIC, in very good functional condition. This style of binoculars are often called “Rabbit Ears”, or more recently “Tank Commander” binoculars. They allow someone to safely view distant objects without subjecting the viewer to oncoming fire. The right side has a very nice 3 sided range reticle.
This set bears Israeli Markings on the lower right, and from what we have found, these were Israeli made, and used by British and Israeli forces during the cold war. There are markings at the top of the barrels on the right and left, as well as in the middle, which gives a serial number and the date of 1956. Unfortunately multiple layers of paint have made some of the markings hard to see, but we can still see the markings somewhat.
Both sides of the binoculars function correctly, with clear optics and mostly intact lens coating. The focus adjustment levers work beautifully, and the rubber eyepieces can be swung out of the way for use with goggles. The rubber on the left side has degraded a bit, but is still relatively soft.
A very nice set at a nice affordable price. Ready to display!
