Original Items: One set of two. These are two very Sporting Gun powder flasks, purchased from an estate sale in England. Both date to the to the early 1800’s, and are extremely decorative, being all made of Copper and Brass. These were a vital shooting accessory back in the time of Muzzle Loaders.
One flask embossed with shell decoration, and is 7 inches in length. It has a functional spout stop, but it seems to be manually operated for both opening and closing, or possibly the spring is lost or broke. The second is embossed with a panoply of game, and is 6 1/2 inches in length, with a functional spring-actuated spout stop. It also has a nice decorative brass chain attached to one of the two hanger loops.
Both are original and of the period and can polish up wonderfully. Ready to display, the two as a group.
