Original Item: Only One Available. This is a magnificent condition brass frame and blunderbuss barrel pistol circa 1815-1820 made by Isaac Riviere who worked in London from 1815 until 1841.
The brass barrel is engraved on the top as follows:
FOR HIS MAJESTYS REVENUE CUTTER HINDE
The spring bayonet is mounted in the center beneath the barrel and is activated by pulling the trigger guard towards the grip. Comes complete with brass tipped wooden ramrod mounted on the left hand side of the barrel.
The brass box lock is marked RIVIERE on the left side plate and LONDON on the right with British proofs on the underside of the barrel.
The wood grip bears an oval silver escutcheon plate on which is engraved a “Fouled Anchor over the initials W. S..
This is a very rare tax collectors flintlock pistol from the time of the Napoleonic Wars and immediately afterward.
Measures 12.5 in overall length.
