Original Item: Only One Available. Made by Dawes of London who worked from 1780 to 1800 this is an extremely rare double barrel flintlock blunderbuss style pistol with spring bayonet. Featuring two side-by-side brass barrels each swamped at the muzzle and bearing British proof marks underneath. A turn switch on the left hand side of the box lock frame determines which barrel is to be discharged.
The brass box lock is marked DAWES on the left side plate and LONDON on the right with British proofs on the underside of the barrel. The spring bayonet is mounted in the center beneath the two barrels and is activated by pulling the trigger guard towards the grip. Comes complete with brass-tipped wooden ramrod mounted on the right hand side of the barrels.
Offered in truly wonderful condition, an extremely rare flintlock double barrel blunderbuss pistol by a well known maker from the end of the 18th century!
