Original Item: Only One Available. Totally original, this has come to us from a collection amassed in the 1950’s and 1960’s that has been in storage for the last 50 years.
“SHARPE of LONDON” was a listed well known maker worked who worked in London from 1800 to 1840, and was known for his pistols of brass construction. The left side of the action body is marked SHARPE, and the right side LONDON. It measures 6 3/4″ overall length, with a screw off brass barrel of just 2 1/4″. The barrel does have a bit of verdigris inside and on the screw joint, so it is currently frozen. The pistol bears London proof marks in front of the trigger guard, and is in really nice matured condition with a great patina. The walnut grip is slab sided, and is just missing a bit of wood around the edges. The top action lock has a sliding half-cock safety, though it has worn and does not hold the hammer anymore.
This was exactly what any Gentleman carried in his Coat pocket for personal protection from the scoundrels that infested the streets of Georgian London.
Ready to display.
