Original Item: One of a Kind. Five and a half inches across, this is a substantial size dog collar that is adjustable in size and has a small brass securing padlock which still retains its small key although it functions only sparingly. There is banner engraving on the side reading COMET and APSLEY HOUSE.
Clearly of great quality and expensive to make, this is somewhat explained by the reference to “APSLEY HOUSE”, which was the London home of the famous DUKE OF WELLINGTON, of WATERLOO fame who lived there basically until his death in 1850. The address is still known as “NUMBER ONE, LONDON.” It is located on the south side of Hyde Park and remains to this day.
Lots of research opportunities with this item for any Wellington enthusiast. Ready to display!
