Original Item: Only One Available. The Rose Top Bobby Helmet was the first of this Classic Police Helmet ever to be issued back in Victorian England. Although still in use in some Constabularies, most have been superseded by the “Ball Top” and then the “Comb Top” models. This particular Helmet, showing very little use, comes complete with chin straps and have an impressive Red, White and Blue enameled Helmet plate of the ROYAL GIBRALTAR POLICE, under a large Queen Elizabeth II Crown on the large Silver colored Helmet plate. In almost un-issued condition, this helmet is already 50-60 years old, and has just a few moth nips at the top. The interior has a nice leather sweatband, which is in great shape, and marked faintly with size 6 7/8.
GIBRALTAR, one of Great Britain’s very few Colonies or Protectorates is extremely small. It is an Island known as the Rock in the mouth of the Mediterranean sea. Captured from Spain in 1704 it has been an issue ever since. Complete with chin strap.
Extremely attractive, the Ball Top Bobby Helmet with a GIBRALTAR Helmet Plate is extremely rare. Ready to display!
