Original Items: Two Sets Only From an English Royal Navy Collection I.M.A. purchased a little while ago we have TWO PAIRS of English 1770 knife and fork sets with green stained bone handles. The forks only each have TWO tines or prongs, and each of the knives have a large bulbous front to the blades, that one associates today with butter knives.
These are absolutely original and authentic to the second half of the 18th Century. We are assured these came from a Royal Navy Ship-of-the-Line from before the time of Vice Admiral Lord Nelson, but as to which Ship we have no information. There are no markings visible on any of these implements. However, we did buy them in the same collection as the Set of SIX pewter Plates all marked to H.M.S. AFRICA dated 1763, which we offer/offered for sale separately.
Iron construction with green bone or dyed ivory handles these are items of true quality, ready for use or display. TWO Matching sets, 2 knives and two forks.
