Original Item: Only One Available. This flintlock Dragoon pistol in .65 bore has a brass mounted walnut wood stock with a 10″ barrel. The pistol measures almost 16″ in overall length. The barrel bears British proof marks. The lock is marked with Crown over G.R. and “TOWER across the tail.
The brass trigger guard bow is engraved 16 L-D referring to the 16th Light Dragoons also known as the 16th Lancers, a regiment that was present at the Battle of Waterloo which was commanded by Lieutenant Colonel James W. Hay who later became a Lieutenant General.
Offered in very nice condition and fully functional the number 37 is carved into the wood on the left side of the stock. A very nice British martial pistol that very may have seen at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815!
