Original Item: Only One Available. Here is a very good condition, WWI Belgian Model 1894 Hebel flare pistol, in the standard 26.5mm caliber with a 9 inch barrel. Left side of frame is marked with the Belgian E/LG/[star] proof mark as well as what appears to be Swedish import markings, but remains unidentified. The Hebel Leuchtpistole Model 1894 was a flare gun was used by Germany and various countries, so it is common to see various import/export markings. The serial number present on the underside of the barrel is 242 with another serial present on the but of the grip frame and is 1583.
Metal finish is worn with a nice worn gray patina, with signs of past pitting and scale. The wood grips still fit well, but do show wear and handling marks commensurate with age and long service. The lanyard ring is still present (rare). Mechanically tight and fully functional, though the catch sticks a bit.
The included leather holster is in wonderful, complete condition. There are no markings that can be found on the holster, but it does appear to be Swedish made. There is light wear present and the securing tab and buckle are still fully functional and undamaged.
A classic Great War German flare gun that will make a nice addition to your collection.
