Original Item: Only One Available. This is a really cute revolver, full size originally being in 11mm. It is marked on the side of the barrel A. FRANCOTTE / A LIÈGE indicating manufacture by the famous Belgian gunmaker Auguste Francotte, who was based in Liège, the famous gunmaking city of Belgium. The frame, barrel and cylinder bear Francotte’s Crown over AF trademark. The city produced large quantities of firearms for the French Officer private purchase market, which this revolver was almost certainly intended for.
The Six shot cylinder has been bushed down from its original large caliber to accept .22 rimfire, with the 6 inch barrel fully sleeved down to match. The cylinder is stamped with the Belgian oval E. / L.G. / * marking.
Open top to cylinder with bag shaped grip easily dating its production to either late 1860’s or easily 1870’s. The revolver till retains its original front and back sights on the top barrel flat of the octagonal barrel. Still some quality original blue finish remaining and comes complete with its original ejection rod in place. Loading gate door is also still present, and functions correctly.
This revolver is in Great working order, still classed as an ANTIQUE being made circa 1870. In full working order, both single action and double action. Cleaned and ready to display.
