It is a very rare early Model 1867 Pioneer Saw back bayonet, the bayonet on which all the German 1871 Pioneer saw back bayonets based the blades of their pioneer bayonets. The M1870 Belgian Comblain was a falling-block rifle invented by Hubert-Joseph Comblain of Liège, Belgium.
Our example is dated 1870 and under the 145 years of patina it is a very fine condition bayonet.
Totally undisturbed it comes with its original brass mounted leather scabbard. An untouched specimen that would be a wonderful addition to any collection.
