Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very cute Open Top six shot .32 caliber Rim Fire Revolver, which at first glance would appear to be for Pinfire ammunition. The pinfire cartridge was introduced in the early 1860’s and featured a pin sticking out of the side of the cartridge case. The hammer on these mostly “open top” revolvers smashed down on the pin, discharging the load and firing the weapon.
The rimfire cartridge was a great improvement over the PinFire system, and was introduced around 1870. The new system immediately became popular, which resulted in pinfire type revolvers being made in rimfire. This is just such a case.
The revolver features a folding trigger for easy transportation in a coat pocket and the cylinder is stamped with the Belgian E. / L.G. / * in an oval marking. It is in overall excellent condition, however the side loading gate is absent, leaving the rear of the chamber’s cartridge cases partially visible.
Otherwise in full working order, both single action and double action. Cleaned and ready to display.
