Original Items: Only these three available. This is a very nice set of four different Axis Powers WWII era holsters: Three are for German pistols, and are marked with German issue stampings: one for the 9mm Polish Radom 35 Vis, and two for 7.65mm Pocket pistols, of which there were numerous in service. The fourth holster is of Italian Manufacture, and is most likely for a Beretta Pistol in 9mm Corto. These come from a Collection of Pistol Holsters purchased by IMA, some with an old index card enclosed giving the model of the pistol and Serial Number of the pistol originally issued with the holster. Of this set, only the Radom holster has the index card.
The first holster is a dark brown top flap holster for the Radom 35 Vis Pistol, and is of the standard German made type encountered. This holster has traces of the original issue stamps between the belt loops, but they are unclear. The card in this holster simply states it was for a VIS (RADOM) P35 / WWII GERMAN / SN# N2996. Condition of the holster is very good, with all stitching and rivets intact. The leather is soft and supple, and well broken in, with a lovely aged brown color.
The second holster is a Black Leather flap top holster with spare magazine compartment to the front, and is the typical medium size “high-front” holster issued for the many 7.65mm pocket pistols used by officers. This would include the Walther PP, FN Browning 1922, and others. This is the style that has a “breakaway” front side. The rear shows a clear 1944 date, as well as maker marking gxy and a Waffenamt proof. This holster is in very good used condition, and does not have much wear at all. The stitching is all intact, the leather soft and supple, with almost no finish wear. Really a quite nice example of this type of holster.
The third holster is another of the typical medium size “high-front” holster issued for the many 7.65mm pocket pistols used by officers. However this one is brown, and does not have a break away front. This holster would usually fit the Walther PP, FN Browning 1922, and others of a similar size. The rear shows a faint 43 date, as well as maker marking cgn and a Waffenamt proof. This holster is in very good used condition, and has the usual wear from service. The stitching is all intact, the leather soft and supple, with a nice worn look.
The fourth and final holster is a larger brown leather “break-away” type flap holster with spare magazine compartment to the front, is the type used with the Beretta Model 1934 in 9mm Corto. The rear shows Italian Fascist issue markings, though they are somewhat unclear. This holster is in very good condition, with the expected wear from age. The stitching is all intact, the leather soft and supple, with finish wear on the edges. It has a lovely brown color, probably having been made in a much lighter shade. There is some verdigris in places, but nothing major.
Four original Axis Powers Officer’s Holsters well marked, offered together.
