Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice totally inert BATF complaint Austrian Schwergranate or Schwerhandgranate, which literally translates to “heavy hand granade”. As the name implies it is quite heavy and large, measuring about 4 3/4 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches across. These were made in many different patterns during the war, and this is a very early pattern with a cylinder shaped body. There is an internal 1/2″ thick fragmentation sleeve, and these were ignited by a standard wick fuse. The top cover still pops off to see the interior structure.
This is the first example we have seen, and it is in great shape, with lots of the original exterior finish, with just a few areas of rust on the outside. Very hard to find and ready to display!
