Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very good condition 20th Century German Fire Brigade (Feuerwehr) Helmet. It has a fiber & resin main body, with a brass front plate, brass central comb, and brass fittings. The front plate has a fire helmet in the middle of a shield, with crossed fire axes behind it, as well hoses and flames, standard fire symbols used worldwide. The helmet is equipped with a very nice liner and protective shroud that goes around the head and neck.
The liner is very adjustable, and states that it fits 53-63cm. There is the name FRANS WIJNVOORD written onto the leather sweatband, most likely the name of the Fireman it was issued to. The plastic support for the liner is marked by maker RÖMER for Hans Römer, a major helmet manufacturer in Germany, with a history going back before WWI.
Very attractive and ready to display!
