Original item: Only One Available. This has the romance which every Schoolboy craved! This Flintlock Pistol dates to 1800 to 1820 and originates in the Ottoman Empire, which today we refer to as Turkey. However at that time the Empire embraced much of Eastern Europe, the Middle East and spread across Northern Africa.
This pistol has a wood stock which is heavily carved with decorated brass mounts, the intricate brass side plate on the left side opposite the lock has lost its rear portion, as shown in the photographs. The iron barrel and the lock are engraved and the barrel might even have come from Western Europe and have been incorporated in this pistol’s construction. It measures 17 1/2 inches overall, with a 10 1/2 inch .67″ bore barrel.
This is the typical “PIRATE FLINTLOCK PISTOL” found in the 1820’s off the Coast of North Africa, who became known as the BARBARY PIRATES. Still dirty and uncleaned after more than 100 years in long term storage we offer this gem which appears to be fully operational.
Offered “AS IS” for the buyer to clean and display, absolutely original and authentic!
