Original Item: Only One Available. We just received this lovely Antique shotgun, along with about 200 other guns, from a collection that sat in an attic for close to 100 years. Almost certainly from the Black Forest region of Germany from the second quarter of the 19th century this is a very Germanic style double barrel, a bit smaller than 16 bore, sporting shotgun. The stock has a cheek piece cut into it and is checkered around the wrist, which has floral borders. The trigger guard is black horn or possibly gutta percha, and early composite material. The rest of the fittings are iron.
The barrel is 32″ in length and overall the gun measures 48″. The barrels look to have spiral grain to them, so they are probably some type of twist forged. The shotgun also has a rear sling button with a front swivel, and has its original brass tipped wooden ramrod.
In really nice matured shape this is ready to display!
