Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very attractive 19th century Pennsylvania type long rifle using the percussion cap ignition system. The underside of the Barrel Breech is marked REMINGTON and the rifle has a superb curly maple stock.
It features set triggers and is fitted with 35″ octagonal rifled barrel in .36 caliber. The weapon is 51″ overall length. There has been a small piece of replacement curly maple let-in directly under the percussion hammer as a contemporary repair and the stock has a couple of small-localized cracks around the head of the lock screw on the left hand side. The furniture is all brass, the butt has a built in patch box and the butt plate is that fabulous hooked variety.
All told this is so nice it needs to hang over someone’s fireplace.
