Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice musket with an outstanding wood stock of very well patterned hardwood. The mounts are all brass and the musket has been converted from original flintlock to percussion probably in the early 1840s. The lock still retains the name POT….” indicating that it was manufactured at the great arsenal just outside Berlin; “Potsdam”.
Interestingly the hammer screw is brass, looks great but might be a replacement.
These musket were imported by the Confederate States for the U.S. Civil War but this one retains much of its original elegance and is totally unspoiled.. The bore is .75″ and the barrel
measures 41″ in length. It has a V-type back sight on the front of the barrel tang and a brass front sight on the upper stock band.
A credit to any Prussian or Civil War collection.
