Original Item: Only One Available. Gun maker JOHN JOINER of HOLBORN, LONDON worked from 1761, when he registered his mark, until 1810 and during the period of 1770 to 1774 made arms for the renown HUDSON’S BAY COMPANY.
This very impressive brass barreled blunderbuss pistol has an 8-inch barrel bearing London proofs, inscribed JOINER, LONDON and the name HUDSON’S BAY COMPANY together with the company motto in engraved ribbon PRO PELLE CUTEM (meaning ‘for a pelt, a skin).
The Pistol has all brass mounts and is 14 inches in overall length. This is the only weapon we have ever seen with any type of Hudson Bay Company markings.
