Original Item: Only One Set Available. This is a German World War Two 10 x 80 German Kriegsmarine Naval Painted Josef Schneider & Co. optics binocular direction Finding Flak 36 (88 mm) Gun sight complete with period issue wooden storage case, accessories, and mount all offered in near MINT condition.
Most commonly seen being used by the KRIEGSMARINE (German Navy) on Ship Bridges and on Conning Towers of U-Boats, these are the giant 10 x 80 Binoculars so much favored in WW2. There are adjustments for eye relief, width and a selection of various filters from Clear (Klar)
to Dark (Dunkel). The Steel Sun Shades and padded brow piece are still present together with the Binocular Mount that attaches to a deck stand/tripod. Included is a usable, we believe, after-market tripod which has been modified for use with this set for infantry use.
Marked: “”D.F. 10 X 80” over “dkl” (Wartime code for: “Josef Schneider & Co., of Kreuznach”) under which the set’s serial number is given.
Fully operational, clear optics in overall excellent condition making this nothing short of an extraordinary find.
