Original Item: The schanzzeug used by the German WWII soldier was a direct legacy from his comrades in the First World War. Stamped steel spade or shovel blade, around 50cm (22 inches) in length, welded at the support and riveted to a wooden handle, it did not undergo any noticeable design change for nearly 50 years.
These shovels are German (possibly Austrian/Swiss) manufacture and all bear World War Two markings! Offered in good to very good sturdy useable condition at a fantastic price (reproductions cost more).
