New Made Item: This is a quality all steel First Model German 1916 Steel Helmet reproduction. It comes complete with the following early model features: A primitive three piece padded leather liner, and Pickelhaulbe style thick leather adjustable chin strap with securing rings to the inside of the helmet bowl. Many helmets with this type of chin strap were later converted to the M17 or M18 standard, as the chin strap was prone to falling off. Later liner-mounted chin straps were far more secure, which is why the original configuration is rarely seen. Both of these features were changed for the M-1918 Production. This M16 also has the required “horns” for ventilation and for mounting the Sniper Brow Plate. It also has the signature German Helmet rolled edge. It certainly has been worth the wait!
Sizing: One size fits most; this helmet comes with an adjustable drawstring leather liner, the liner is approximately adjustable from 7 to 7 1/2 (by removing the pads) and can be made larger with some cutting of the liner (however, any alterations of this nature will make the helmet non-returnable).
