New Made Items: It has finally arrived, our promised First Model German 1916 Steel Helmet reproduction. It comes complete with the following early model features: A primitive three piece padded leather liner, and Pickelhaulben style thick leather adjustable chin strap with securing rings to the inside of the helmet bowl. Both of these features were changed for the M-1918 Production. This M-1916 has the required “horns” for ventilation and for mounting the Sniper Brow Plate. It also has the signature German Helmet ?rolled edge?. Complete with: New Made German WWI heavy steel helmet shield known as the “Brow Plate” that were issued to Snipers and Trench Raiding Parties. Designed to hook onto the protruding vent lugs of the traditional M.1916 German Helmet, they were secured with a leather strap and buckle to the rear of the helmet so “one size fitted all”. Records show that seven and a half million M.1916 helmets were produced but only fifty thousand of the Brow Plates were issued, that’s one in one hundred and fifty! A very hard-to-find original WWI item now available as a perfect reproduction, complete with leather strap and buckle.
