Original Item: Ever since the early years of the reign of Queen Elizabeth the First (died 1603) the British Navy issued Cutlasses to all Boarding Parties and Shore Parties for security reasons. Be it recovering drunken Naval ratings from the port whorehouses, to Press Ganging new recruits, and just in case there was an encounter with the French, the wearing of a Cutlass was the order of the day when not aboard ship. These are the old P-1903 adjustable, to about 34″, waist brown leather belts with brass fittings. Each is fitted with a genuine original NOS (New Old Stock) never issued Naval brass two piece buckle showing the Naval “Fouled Anchor” to center surrounded by the Naval Motto in Latin. Ready for Display, a remarkable piece of Naval memorabilia.
Size: adjustable up to approximately 38 inches.
