Originally this percussion cap pistol was a Flintlock having been made in the early 19th Century, sometime around 1810, this is the typical model Horse Pistol used by British Cavalry throughout Britain?s Indian Empire. Made in England with British proof markings on the barrel, then converted to the Percussion Cap system in the 1830/1840s the lock still retains the East India Company Rampant Lion Logo adopted in 1808 and a Crown over 3 proof mark. Pistol features brass Butt Cap with heavy lanyard rings, brass Trigger Guard, Side plate and Nose Cap and has a swiveling trapped steel ramrod for use on horseback. A Historic Pistol in use in the British Empire for perhaps 50 years in a nice matured antique collectible condition. Not available for sale in New Jersey, ships from IMA’s Easton, Pennsylvania location.
