Original Item: One Only. Well, here is a real contradiction in terms, presented to a group of mindless morons from the over educated. Any person prepared to jump out of an airplane has to be nuts, if that is what God intended of course we would have be born with wings or with built in Jet-Packs. This, approximately 14″ across, handsome Scalloped Silver Plated Drinks Tray on four decorated feet is inscribed:
To the Officers Headquarters
16th Parachute Brigade Group
from
Captain M.Liley, Int. Corps
1960-1964″
The silver plating is somewhat worn, no doubt from the spilling of too many “Pink Gins”. Nice Maker’s Marks and “Sheffield” on the reverse. One can only wonder at what an over educated Captain in Military Intelligence was so grateful to the Parachute Regiment for? Nevertheless a very interesting item of British Military memorabilia in the fine alcoholic tradition, an item we could not resist acquiring several years ago based entirely on the unlikely association of the donor and the recipients. Looks great, once polished with a couple of glasses of Red Wine, looks better still with four or five.
