Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice pre-war Panzer Other Ranks/NCO’s visor cap by Clemens Wagner of Braunschweig, produced in 1938.
This peak visor cap is constructed of fine, light field-grey doeskin wool, with pink piping and a dark green cap band. The cap retains the aluminum eagle with swas, aluminum oak leaves with silvered cockade, and black, patent-leather chinstrap.
The cap is lined with golden brown fabric, with a celluloid diamond and size stamping 56 1/2
The light brown leather sweatband is perfect and has numerous stampings on the underside that read:
Clemens Wagner
Braunschweig
1938
Lander-Lief Genossenschaft
Kürschner u. Mützenmacher
Für Thüringen 3
1939
Condition report: This Panzer peak visor cap is in excellent condition. The exterior is almost free from moth or damage (a few minor nips). The doeskin wool crown still retains a great color and shape. The pink piping is clean and fresh. The badge insignia is in great shape, with typical age patina to the silvered cockade.
The lining to the peak visor cap shows just light use and the celluloid diamond is intact, free from splits. The stamps are perfect and clear. The leather sweatband is supple and shows just light use.
Overall a wonderful desirable Panzer Peaked Visor Cap made before the start of WW2!
