Original Item: Only One Available. The K-98 dress bayonet was a dress version of the combat style. It was worn by enlisted and NCO personnel. The bayonet was finished with a high-quality nickel plating, black checkered bakelite grip plates and black painted scabbard. The choice of blade length was left to the purchaser, being nickel-plated short or long version. There was a red or green colored felt insert in the rifle slot and the bayonet was suspended from a black or brown leather frog.
This excellent Heer (Army) example has a wonderful hilt with nickel plating which still remains in 99% condition. The mortise button and blade release function perfectly. There is an original red colored felt strip in the rifle slot. The grip plates are the black checkered type, both being in near mint condition. The reverse of the blade is marked with the classic WKC logo. They are retained by nickel-plated steel rivets which have dressed heads on the obverse. The original brown leather blade washer is in place.
The scabbard is straight throughout and has black paint. This paint is 80%. Attached to the scabbard is a nice brown leather frog with maker stamping and 1935 date!. A wonderful scabbard and frog combination.
A truly excellent nice 98k Heer dress bayonet from a top maker.
