Original Item: Only One Available. This Fireman’s Bayonet is in nice condition throughout. The nickel hilt plating is bright throughout and remains 90% intact. The grip plates are the checkered black Bakelite type, in excellent condition and retained by steel rivets with dressed obverse heads. The scabbard has the original black paint, still bright and about 70% intact. The original frog shows normal attic crazing but is still sound. The frog is dated 1942.
Wrapped about the frog is an excellent Fireman’s Troddel. This troddel is of black leather strapping with triple stitches of gold. There is a black leather slide and the stem is covered in silver bullion. The oval ball consists of alternating red and silver bullion thread. The insert is pink.
The long blade is a fine example with a highest quality nickel-plated surface. It is in good condition and has wide fuller construction. The reverse is marked with the wonderful 1935-41 Eickhorn Squirrel trademark. The original brown leather blade buffer is in place.
A nice, complete example here.
