Original Item: Only One Available. This is a fantastic VERY hard to find Cardboard Crate for 30mm sticks of dynamite, marked 30mm on the side, and Dynamit on the top. The explosive had a wide variety of uses during the war, and was definitely needed in relatively large quantities. Cardboard does not hold up well to time and wear at all when compared to wooden crates, which is why these boxes are so hard to find. It measures 29 1/2″ x 10 3/4″ x 9 1/2″, and definitely shows some wear to the exterior, which has unfortunately removed some of the original markings.
We can however still see a clear manufacturer rondel marking on the side, indicating it was produced by DYNAMITE-ACTIEN-GESELLSCHAFT (Dynamite Stock Company), VORM. ALFRED NOBEL & CO. (Formerly Afred Nobel & Co.), one of the companies founded by the inventor of Dynamite, Alfred Nobel. The top of the box indicates it was made at the factory in Würgendorf, Germany, and also has a clear 1944 date. The side of the lid has additional packing information on the back, giving a more precise date of 5 44 (May 1944.
A hard to find German WWII item that would be part of any explosives or ordnance display!
