Original Item: Only One Available. A somewhat salty condition late war Officer’s Schirmmütze Visor Cap. A unique visor cap for an officer in the Infantry, who had the chin cords removed to provide a “crusher” appearance to the cap.
Fabricated in Army green gray wool, with wide dark green wool cap band, plus three rows of white wool piping around the circumference. The peak visor cap retains matching, metal eagle with swas and oak leaves, along with a metal wreath and cockade with a red felt center.
The cap is lined with deep golden-yellow silk with a 75% complete celluloid diamond. Stamped on the interior 56 which the size of this cap. The sweatband is salty but complete. Leather visor shows crazing.
