Original Item: Only One Available. This is a nice genuine German WWII Issue M31 aluminum canteen water bottle with an aluminum screw top cap, complete with genuine wool cover featuring correct snaps. It also has a standard black leather belt harness, which has a steel belt hook on the back, for attaching to the combat rigging. The leather of the harness has degraded quite a bit, and the cup has lost much of its black paint.
The cup is marked RFI 39, for Rudolf Fissler KG, Idar-Oberstein. The canteen body is marked GNL 11 39, for Gebrüder Noelle, Lüdenscheid. The aluminum cap is marked WWL 39, for Wilhelm Wiesenauer, Aluminiumwarenfabrik Ludwigsburg. This is a complete 1939-issued set in great overall shape.
The wool cover has the correct early issue 4 snaps, which are marked on the back. The original sealing washer in the cap is still present, and the felt cover is good, with a few areas of moth damage, and overall dirt staining from service.
An original German WWII Canteen with Cup, worn from use in the field. Ready to display!
