Original Item. Only One Available. This cowhide-covered rucksack was known as the Tornister Model 34 (developed in 1934) and was later fitted with new style straps in 1939. As the war progressed the design was simplified for economical and practical reasons so the cowhide cover was eliminated making these packs especially scarce on todays collector market.
This example of a wartime rucksack comes complete with the 1939 issue shoulder straps. It retains 95% of the cowhide and the leather is in very good condition. It is nicely maker marked:
JOHANN FROHLICH
VITTEN 101 1942
Also included is M38 Long Wehrmacht Gas Mask Can with correct leather tie down strap. The can is offered in very good condition with functional lid and spring loaded closure strap. The can does not contain a gas mask. A really nice example of a hard to find backpack with Gas mask Can as used by German soldiers in WW2.
