Original Item: Only One Available. As a general rule we do not buy excavated items, however in this case the condition is such that perhaps apart from rust pitting on the Porcelain cap fitting one would never know this has spent almost eighty years buried in a WW1 Trench.
The brown glass bottle stands 11 1/2″ tall including its porcelain cap. Its body is embossed in the glass casting with the name of the brewery:-
Societätsbrauerei
WALDSCHÖSSCHEN,
Dresden.
Flasche Eigentum
&
unverkäuflich
This also indicates that the bottle is brewery property, and not to be sold. On the reverse it is marked with the brewery crest with SCHUTZE-MARKE (trademark) above it, and gesetzlich geschützt (protected by law), indicating that it is a registered and legally protected trademark.
The wired cap top also has the brewery name Societätsbrauerei Waldschösschen DRESDEN around the crest, and still operates perfectly. Even a bit of the rubber washer is still present.
This “battlefield pickup” Original WW1 beer bottle is most appealing and ready to display.
