Original Items: Only One Lot of 4 Available. This is a wonderful lot of items which were more than likely brought home by American soldiers at the end WWI and WWII. They are in lovely condition and are perfect for the young collector who is looking to add a variety of medals and insignia to bolster their collections!
The Following Items Are Included:
– Imperial German Iron Cross Patriotic Ring: The silver ring is in good condition but has tarnished over the last century. All colors are still present.
– Freistaat Preussen Officer Buckle: This Freistaat Preussen Officer Buckle is an impressive piece. It is made of bronze. This pattern of buckle dates from before the Third Reich and was worn by officers in the Schutzpolizei. The front of the buckle features large, bold “Freistaat Preussen” wording, surrounding a pebbled roundel on which is superimposed the eagle emblem that was used on the Prussian state flag from 1918 to 1933. The front of this buckle shows some light, even wear from use, and some expected and typical toning from age. The reverse of this Freistaat Preussen Officer Buckle has a smooth, dark age patina. It is complete and functional, with a catch for the belt hook as well as a roller bar and prongs assembly that once affixed this to the belt of a Prussian officer.
– Wehrmacht Long Service Award 3rd Class (12 Years): The awards were designed by Professor Dr Richard Klein. Apart from their finish, (gilt or silver), the third and fourth class medals have a common obverse. Both are 30mm in diameter and bear the German eagle clutching a swas, surrounded by the words Treue Dienste in der Wehrmacht (Loyal service in the armed forces). The reverse shows the number of years of service, either ‘4’ or ’12’, surrounded by a wreath.
– WWI Bavarian 21st Infantry Regiment Veterans Club Membership Badge: The badge and ribbon are both in very nice condition and was made by the well known Deschler & Sohn. The badge was in an original box marked with Max Strasser of Nuremberg.
All items come more than ready for further research and display.
