Original Item: Only One Available. This looks very Germanic, but then again may have been made by a German Immigrant here in the United States circa 1850. This has an exotically “Black Forest” style carved wood stock that could pass as being part of some exotic furniture. The Octagonal barrel measures 8 1/2″ with a very exotic front sight. The barrel tang is fitted with a rudimentary back sight using a notched “V”.
The rear of the wood grip shows the fittings to accept the addition of a Shoulder Stock for seriously accurate shooting but this shoulder stock is now absent. There is also a fitting for the addition of a long range sight.
The barrel is rifled and the pistol comes with its all steel ram rod. The pistol has no markings other than WEST 1852, which seems to have been punched into the lock plate and suggests it may well be an Owner’s name rather than that of the Gun Smith.
Very Interesting, complete with Set trigger adjusted by a screw directly behind the trigger. Ready to display!
