Original Item: Only One Available. The National Socialist German Workers’ Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei or NSDAP), was a political party in Germany between 1919 and 1945. The NSDAP was in charge of the beginning stages of the air force, at a time before the Luftwaffe was officially established. This is a German WWII Luftkriegs armband, which is the armband used in the early days of the air force. The design consists of a one piece cotton body with a printed design, which shows the NSDAP initials, a swas in a white circle, and LUFTKRIEGS EINSATZ, all on a red background. These words translate to “Air War Employment”, and the armbands were worn on the left arm of the uniform
The armband has stitched edges, measuring about 18″ x 2″, and is not sewn together at the ends, which are somewhat frayed. The armband is in very good condition, showing some staining and crumpling consistent with use in service. There are also some small holes and wear consistent with service.
A very nice example from the earliest period of the German Air Force, ready to display!
