Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very interesting original German NSDAP (NSDAP) Party Enameled Buttonhole pin, which has a dual function as a “female” snap on a jacket or other piece of clothing. We assume that it would be placed into the hole after the original snap was removed, allowing seamless integration into that piece of clothing.
The Pin is non-magnetic, and looks to be made of brass or nickel alloy, measuring 16mm in width and about 6mm tall. It has the standard enamel black swas (hook cross) on top, surrounded by a white enamel field with a red enamel border. There are no words in the border, as there would be on a membership pin.
A very interesting piece of Third Reich memorabilia!
The NSDAP, Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, (National Socialist German Worker’s Party), was originally founded in Munich as the DAP, Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, (German Worker’s Party), on January 5TH 1919. When Adolf AH joined the DAP in the autumn of 1919 he was to reform what was basically a debating society into an active political party. Appointed as the first chairman of the party on July 29TH 1921 AH was to restructure it along para-military lines in a hierarchy of four levels of government.
