The jacket, of heavy black leather with a five-button front furnished with gold buttons (Overkoff marked on the reverse). Typically black leather KM jackets like this were worn by u-boat engine room mechanics as the black didn’t show oil stains as easily.
It has a stand up collar (with hook closure) and two adjustment straps on each sleeve having the same buttons. It has the typical lower flapped hip pockets and one upper breast pocket with flap. The interior is fully lined with heavy black wool and has one inside pocket. Original tag still present on interior neck but it is faded and not legible.
A nice jacket as associated with U-boat personnel offered in very good condition, based on the style it dates from approximately 1941.
