Original Item: Only One Available. Totally inert and demilitarized according to BATF guidelines with hollow body and inert fuse. This grenade cannot be converted to an explosive devise and is not available for export.
The French DF37, also known by its nickname Little Brown Jug, was a French fragmentation defensive hand grenade. It was put into service in 1937 together with OF 37 offensive hand grenade. The DF-37 was typically used with Mle 1935 fuse while a later variation known as the DF 37/46 used both Mle 1935 and new F3 and F5 fuses (which make the grenade look different). Visually DF 37 differs from OF 37 in that the body of OF 37 consists of two parts, while DF 37 has a solid body.
This WWII example is offered in very good condition with the original brown and red coloring that led to the wonderful nickname. It still has the original pull spoon and retaining pin, as well as the washer under the fuse. There are some issue markings on the fuze and grenade body.
Very attractive and ready to display!
